For those of you who may be experiencing some level of disappointment this hump day Wednesday, allow another excerpt from Max Lucado’s book of Inspirational Promises help you through.
I pray that God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
When God doesn’t do what we want, it’s not easy? Never has been. Never will be. But faith is the conviction that God knows more than we do about this life and he will get us through it.
Remember, disappointment is caused by unmet expectations. Disappointment is cured by revamped expectations. Next time you’re disappointed, don’t panic. Don’t give up. Just be patient and let God remind you he’s still in control. It ain’t over til it’s over.
Father, we are thankful that you are in control of all life’s situations. When we are disappointed, help us to turn to you and accept your will, confident that you will always have our best at heart. Amen!
