Turmeric as a spice is the main ingredient in most curry mixes. If you desire to add turmeric to your dishes, use turmeric powder or fresh rootstocks.
Here are some ways to prepare turmeric.
- Cut up turmeric rootstock and add it to stir fry, soups or salads.
- Add the turmeric spice to green tea with a dash of cayenne pepper. Without the pepper, turmeric will not absorb as well.
- Run fresh turmeric through a juicer to get a concentrate. Use the juice to cook up Asian Java rice or use it as a tonic. by mixing it with honey and lemon.
