With four books under my belt, this year I’m looking forward to participating in my first book fair. Join me this Saturday October 5th for the second annual Charlotte Book Fair. It will build on the success of last year’s effort to promote literacy in the community in a fun and welcoming environment. The Wadsworth Estate and the streets of the Historic Wesley Heights neighborhood will be transformed into a literacy incubator for Charlotte.
The free, open-to-the-public fair will be an all-day family-centered event, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at 400 South Summit Avenue. With the theme “The Joy of Reading,” the Charlotte Book Fair will feature presentations, books, authors, storytellers, spoken-word artists, workshops, performances, food vendors, merchants and more.
Featured writers include Dr. Patricia Moore-Harbour, author of Community Educators: A Resource for Educating and Developing Our Youth; visual artist, Tommie L. Robinson; Sam Wazan, author of The Last Moderate Muslim; and Jerrard K. Polk of POLKFUN.com, entrepreneur and international illustrator.
And of course I will be there selling my four books Mosaic Cross, The Spirit of the Poet, How to Be Schoolgirl Skinny: Eat Your Cake and Have Your Figure Too! and the workbook companion How to Be Schoolgirl Skinny: Eat Your Cake and Have Your Figure Too! 5 Week Challenge Workbook. Look for me and I can autograph any or all of these books for you on Saturday. See you there!
