This year is one of coming into higher awareness.  You’ll know if you’re being asked to become more aware if you have a lot of challenges in your life just now.  For the most part, people don’t grow when things are going well; it’s the unpleasant surprises in our lives that catch our attention.

Feng shui teaches that balance is achieved as a result of working both with your spaces and your life; shift one and the other naturally shifts.  Challenges are a powerful mirror for showing you just where you are in your life.  In what areas of your life are you experiencing difficulty?  Do you also have spaces in your home or business that don’t feel good?  Take a look at these spaces; what do they represent?  If you can become more aware of seeing a connection, you may be able to shift your spaces and bring more balance into your life as a result.  This is a generalization, of course, but the idea is valid.

Because we live in duality, it is always a challenge to have balance (and peace) in our lives for an extended period of time.  Expanding your vision to see from a point of higher awareness allows you to understand your life from a more holistic perspective.  From this point of view you may be able to see the gifts within the challenges.  You will know this is true if you look back on something “bad” that happened in your life; it may have led to a new job, relationship, idea or something unexpected.

It’s time to begin looking at your life in a new way; the complex and dynamic energy of this year supports this.  Step out of the box that is your life and see your world from a broader perspective.  Things will then become more clear, challenges will seem less daunting, and you will find more things to be grateful for.  Begin to flow with the new energy of 2012 – its “good feng shui!”
