I can remember the first time that I read and heard of the Serenity Prayer. It was years ago when I was just a little girl. I was probably much too young then to recognize the significance, but in time I have gravitated to it as I’m sure many of you have also.
Life Goes On
Over the years we experience ups and downs in life and the things that were once so familiar can sometimes become absent to our immediate recall, such as this inspiring prayer. But as good as God is, He can always seem to bring to our remembrance exactly what we need – when we need it the most.
I’m supposing now that I’m older and ready to heed it’s full meaning, this prayer seems so much more profound and very much needed in my life from when I was just a child. The depth of this prayer has comforted me through the valleys that I don’t quite understand, which makes these situations easier to accept. And the courage is a true blessing to dismantle all of my fears.
For those of you who may need a refresher on it’s content, it’s noted below. And I pray that you find as much comfort and resolve as I have. Enjoy!
“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference.”
