1 Kings 10:24
The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.
What is the one blessing from God that we could always use a little bit more of? Sure the possibilities may seem endless, wealth, power, and good health; but when we consider a means to accomplish all of these things and more. One spiritual man of God realized that as a King he was already blessed with so much, but what he desired more than anything is to sever God and his people.
When Solomon took over as King after his father King David, he made a thousand burnt offerings to the Lord; and that night God appeared to him and said “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” (2 Chronicles 1:7)
Solomon replied “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?” (2 Chronicles 1:10)
God said to Solomon, “Since this is your heart’s desire and you have not asked for wealth, possessions or honor, nor for the death of your enemies, and since you have not asked for a long life but for wisdom and knowledge to govern my people over whom I have made you king, therefore wisdom and knowledge will be given you. And I will also give you wealth, possessions and honor, such as no king who was before you ever had and none after you will have.” (2 Chronicles 1:11-12)
Solomon is without question the wisest king who ever lived.
